Behind the scenes / out and about
Participants spent the day learning design and linocut techniques to create a unique block repeat pattern printed onto a tote bag. We began by developing nature inspired sketches for linocut designs that could either work as placement prints or repeat patterns. Specialist carving tools were used to cut he lino blocks, and sample test prints were produced before printing the final designs onto cotton tote bags.

It was fantastic to see what everyone achieved in 2.5 hrs from initial drawing ideas, to cutting their lino blocks through to printing their final prints. A brilliant session full of creativity, experimentation and some wonderful results!
