Monoprinting on Fabric

Age 16+

This workshop focuses on creating botanical inspired monoprints on fabric using gel plates. You’ll explore a variety of techniques using plant and other materials as masks and stencils to create richly textured, organic prints. By the end of the session, you’ll have a selection of unique fabric prints, along with some paper tests and ghost prints to enjoy as finished pieces or develop into future creative projects.

Please Note: Some botanicals will be provided; however, feel free to bring your own. Please keep stems in water until use and wrap them in damp kitchen towel (or a suitable alternative) when transporting them to the workshop.

As part of thread festival, I will be hosting a monoprint workshop at Farnham Maltings.

Explore the creative possibilities of gel plate printing on both paper and fabric.

This hands-on workshop introduces a range of monoprinting techniques using plant and everyday materials as masks and stencils to build layered patterns, textures, and expressive marks.

You’ll experiment with printing onto two different surfaces and leave with a collection of unique prints to enjoy as finished artworks or develop further into cards or collages.

All Materials provided. Some botanicals will be provided, however, feel free to bring your own. Please keep stems in water until use and wrap them in damp kitchen towel (or a suitable alternative) when transporting them to the workshop.
