Rachel Reynolds

 

After graduating from Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1995, Rachel worked on a freelance basis gaining commissions in a number of areas. This included designing contemporary wall hangings for domestic interiors and backdrops for churches. Rachel also worked in the commercial sector producing designs for furnishing fabrics.

Whilst doing voluntary work in India with Oasis Trust in 1996, Rachel was involved in helping to set up a craft project aimed to equip marginalised women with a skill and employment, this involved planning projects, market research and implementing practical ideas.

Rachel pursued the idea of setting up her own business on her return to England and after attending various business courses, a business plan was produced and she registered as a self-employed textile artist in 1997, based in Southampton, England.

Since then Rachel has continued to work to commission and has also sold her work through exhibitions at various galleries and craft shops throughout the southern region. Since 1998 Rachel has been selling her work through trade and craft fairs throughout the United Kingdom, whilst continuing to exhibit in galleries.

She has also exhibited work in Sweden and the USA.
